What is the membership criteria?


To be considered for membership at the Berkeley Society, the following criteria must be met: 1. The individual must be a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, either in an undergraduate or graduate program. 2. The individual must have achieved a degree of distinction within their respective professional field: - The individual is a decision-maker within their organization, or - The individual is an influential figure within their respective industry and/or professional sphere.




What are the membership dues?


Currently, there is no charge to membership.




How are members selected and invited?


Membership is reserved to Cal Alumni that have achieved a degree of distinction within their respective professional field. The Society conducts independent research to locate, select and personally send membership invitation to these individuals. Existing members of the Society can also endorse and recommend new prospective members, for whom the Society will conduct the same due diligence process before sending a membership invitation.




Is the Society affiliated with the University?


The Berkeley Society is a privately managed and independent organization, unaffiliated with the University of California, Berkeley.

How many current members and where are they located?


The Society currently has over 250 members, most of which are located within the state of California. Our goal is to extend membership nationwide in the next 12 months.




Can I recommend someone for membership and what is the process?


Existing members of the Society can endorse and recommend new prospective members, for whom the Society will conduct due diligence review before sending a membership invitation. To recommend someone for membership, please send an email to members@berkeleysociety.org with the following information: - Individual's Full Name - Affiliated Company - Professional Title - Contact Email Address - UC Berkeley Graduating Year (Please specify Undergraduate vs. Graduate Program) - A quick summary of why you think the individual is a good fit for the Society.




How do I accept the membership invitation?


Congratulations and thank you for joining our society. Each membership invitation is personally delivered to the prospective member and includes a URL to a private member registration page along with the member's unique invitation code. To accept the invitation, please click on the URL in your invitation email, complete the registration form and submit along with your unique invitation code. Please note that our website was updated in September 2018, and the member registration portal is now private to prospective members only. If you received a membership invitation before September 17th, 2018, please email us at members@berkeleysociety.org for assistance on how to register.
